Melbourne indie-folk duo Someday June release debut single Look Closer, a languid number full of soft lulls and ambient electro shades that takes its own sweet time to unfold. Exploring anxieties familiar to many, Look Closer speaks to the experience of wasting time, not starting, making things in the dark, waiting to begin, being tired of waiting, hesitating, doing it half-asleep, forcing yourself out of your head. Any creative procrastinator and worried self-doubter will immediately know the feeling.
Someday June are Bec Sykes and Troy White, a duo mixing a love of folk and soul into their own delicate, spacious sound. Recorded in beautiful Belgrave and mixed by David Carr at Rangemaster in the Dandenong Ranges, Look Closer holds the misty magic of the Dandenongs close.
Look Closer is taken from their upcoming debut self-titled EP releasing this August. Catch them live with Zac Saber on the dates below.
