Yeo ~ Desire Path

Is Melbourne producer Yeo the most underrated, under-the-radar legend in town? WildnFree thinks so. Ever since he told his drummer to fuck himself in Got No Game a year ago, she’s been a fan. There’s just something about the beats, the warm voice, the lyrical honesty, its a potent mix that ticks WildnFree’s boxes in curious ways. New album Desire Path offers 10 more tracks for her to savour, with a bunch of collabs with diverse artists offering strength and flavour.

As previously discussed, Never Wanted That ft Asta is reminiscent of that quality Luther/Janet Best Things In Life Are Free vibe, while Kira Pura adds vocal beauty and shine to Three Dots.  See if you can resist the relentlessness of Chasing Shadows with Fractures, and old mates Take Your Time bring the pop harmonies to Wannabe.  Do you recognise a familiar old tune in the opening moments of @snackswithyeo, does it spin you out? What do you think of drumless weirdness of last track He Ain’t I?

Love ya work Yeo. Catch him live on the dates below, supported by the lovely Lonelyspeck.
